For the coconut striezel I stir the yeast, sugar and a little coconut milk until smooth, mix flour, salt and remaining coconut milk. Add the stirred yeast and knead well into a smooth dough.
Cover and let rest in a warm place for 1 hour. Then briefly beat together again, form 3 strands and use them to braid a plait. Of course, another braid shape will work as well.
Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with sugar or almonds as I did. Put the braid in the COLD oven and bake at 200 degrees for about 50 minutes.
Preparation Tip:
This coconut striezel is not so sweet. You can replace the sugar with birch sugar.
