Instructions:

First, rub an ovenproof dish with a peeled clove of garlic, butter it and preheat the oven to 180 °C.

Then cut the cooked beet into 1/2 cm thick slices, layer them in the form of bricks and season with salt and pepper.

Now mix the whipped cream together with the grated cheese, spread evenly over the beets and bake for about 20 minutes until the surface is nicely browned.

Sprinkle the finished gratin with freshly chopped chives before serving.

Preparation Tip:

This gratin is excellent as a side dish for various meat or fish dishes, but also tastes great as a vegetarian dish, with parsley potatoes, for example.
