For the chocolate toffee muffins, beat the sugar with the soft butter until fluffy. Stir in the eggs and the buttermilk. Combine the flour, ground hazelnuts, baking cocoa and baking powder and gently fold into the mixture.

Place one muffin tin per well in the muffin tin. Fill each paper cup with a spoonful of batter, then with a Toffifee, and finally with batter again. Divide the batter evenly among all the cavities.

Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C (top and bottom heat) for about 20 minutes (test with a stick).

Melt the chocolate coating in a water bath and decorate the cooled chocolate toffee muffins as desired.
