Toasts are always welcome as an entrée as well as a light snack in the evening. Especially when they’re as low in calories as this one.

Preheat the oven to 225 degrees.

Clean and rinse the chicory and cut into tender strips. Season with pepper and salt. Grate or finely dice the cheese and stir in. Toast the bread.

Spread the mixture evenly on the toast slices. Carefully grate the figs and quarter them, tucking them between the lettuce. Sprinkle the pine nuts on top.

Bake the toasts in the oven (0ben) for 15 minutes (gas mark 4). At the end grind pepper on top.
