Instructions:

First marinate the raisins in rum for a few hours.

Preheat the oven to approx. 200 °C. Mix milk with yolks, 2 tablespoons vanilla sugar and flour until smooth.

Whip egg whites with salt and beat with sugar until firm. Fold into the yolk mixture. Cream butter in an ovenproof pan. Pour in the batter.

Sprinkle with raisins to taste. Let it bake on the stove. Then finish baking in the oven for about 10 minutes.

When golden brown, remove from the oven and roughly shred on the stove. Sprinkle with a little sugar and let it caramelize slightly.

Arrange and sprinkle with a little powdered sugar.

Preparation Tip:

The Kaiserschmarren goes well with applesauce, stewed plums or stewed fruit!
