In a bowl, beat the egg whites with a tablespoon of granulated sugar until stiff. Fold in the yolks, a pinch of vanilla sugar, some raisins and flour and carefully stir in the milk.

Melt some butter in a pan, pour in the batter and bake just briefly (about half a minute). Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake the Kaiserschmarren until it is nice and golden brown. Remove from the oven and cut the Kaiserschmarren into small pieces with two forks.

Sprinkle the Kaiserschmarren with some granulated sugar and caramelize again briefly in the oven.

Portion the Kaiserschmarren, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.

Preparation Tip:

Kaiserschmarren goes perfectly with applesauce, stewed apples or stewed plums.
