Instructions:

For the Lahmacun – Turkish Pizza, dissolve the yeast in a little lukewarm water.

In a large bowl, mix the flour with sugar and salt. Make a well in the center and add the remaining ingredients and knead into a soft dough.

Cover the bowl with a cloth and let rest in a warm place for about 1-2 hours until the dough has doubled in size.

For the topping, mix the mince in a bowl with grated onion, grated garlic and chopped tomatoes. Chop the parsley and add it to the minced meat with the rest of the ingredients. Then mix well

Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Line baking trays with baking paper.

On a lightly floured work surface, divide the risen dough into equal-sized balls and roll each into a small circle with a rolling pin.

Place the patties on the baking sheet and spread the meat mixture on top. Bake for 10-15 minutes per baking sheet.

Remove the finished lahmacun from the oven and enjoy immediately or toppings can be added as desired.

Preparation Tip:

Toppings for the traditional lahmacun can be lemon juice, iceberg lettuce, feta cheese, onions, tomatoes and yogurt sauce. After baking, the Turkish pizza becomes nice and crispy, but if left for a few hours, it becomes very soft and is at least as good. So the Lahmacun can also be eaten wonderfully cold.
