For the marble ring cake, coat the ring cake pan with Kronenöl Spezial with a fine butter flavor and sprinkle with flour. Preheat the oven to 160 °C (top and bottom heat).

Sift 300 g flour and baking powder. Separate eggs. Beat egg yolks, powdered sugar, salt, vanilla sugar and grated lemon peel (min. 10 min.) until foamy.

Whisk milk and remaining flour until smooth and gradually add. Slowly pour in Kronenöl Spezial with fine butter flavor while stirring constantly. Add flour mixture.

Beat egg whites well, add granulated sugar, beat until creamy and fold into mixture. Divide the mixture 2/3 and 1/3. Mix cocoa and rum until smooth and stir into 1/3 of the mixture. Pour both masses alternately into the Gugelhupfform and bake in the oven for about 60 minutes on the middle shelf.

Let the marble ring cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, turn it out of the pan, let it cool completely and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Preparation Tip:

Serve the marble Kugelhupf with a dollop of whipped cream.
