Put all the ingredients in a bowl or on a work surface and work quickly by hand to form a shortcrust pastry. Form three not too thick rolls and let rest covered in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours. When the dough is firm, cut small slices about 3 mm thick using a serrated knife. Place them on a prepared baking sheet with a wide gap (run apart) and bake in a preheated oven at about 165 to 175 °C for 10 to 14 minutes until golden brown on sight.
Preparation Tip:
The dough can be flavored with cinnamon, cloves or allspice. The thalers are also suitable as an addition to sundaes and desserts.
